Threats Target 3 Brampton Schools as Police Track Down Suspect

Alarming Messages Spark Fear Across Brampton

A disturbing series of threats aimed at three Brampton schools triggered concern among parents, students, and staff before police moved quickly to identify and arrest a suspect.

According to Peel Regional Police, the troubling incidents unfolded between May 10 and May 12 when one secondary school received multiple threatening phone messages. As investigators dug deeper, they discovered that two additional schools, a second secondary school and an elementary school, had also been targeted.

The discovery raised immediate concerns within the community, leaving many wondering whether the threats posed a real danger to students and educators.

Three Schools Linked to the Same Investigation

What initially appeared to be an isolated incident soon expanded into a broader investigation. Detectives determined that the threatening communications directed at all three schools were connected and involved the same individual.

School communities were placed on alert as authorities worked alongside school administrators to assess the situation. Families sought answers while officials carefully reviewed the nature of the threats and their credibility.

The fact that an elementary school was among the targets added another layer of concern, as younger students and their families became caught in the unfolding situation.

Police and School Officials Work Together

Peel Regional Police coordinated closely with school administration teams throughout the investigation. Their joint efforts focused on evaluating the threats and ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

After conducting their investigation, authorities concluded that the threats were unfounded. While no actual danger was identified, the incident demonstrated how threatening communications can create significant disruption and anxiety within school communities.

Arrest Made After Investigation Advances

On May 12, investigators arrested 31-year-old Bryan Hulme of Scarborough in connection with the case.

Police say the accused has been charged with:

  • Utter Threats
  • Public Mischief (three counts)

The charges stem from threatening incidents targeting Brampton schools during the three-day period.

Following the arrest, the accused was released and is expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Community Remains Alert

Although investigators determined the threats lacked credibility, the case serves as a reminder of how quickly fear can spread when schools become the focus of alarming messages.

Parents and community members continue to prioritize student safety, while authorities emphasize the need to take all threats seriously until they can be thoroughly investigated.

Police are asking anyone with information related to the investigation to contact the 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau or submit information anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers.

As the court process moves forward, many in Brampton will be watching closely, reflecting on how a few phone calls triggered days of concern across multiple schools.
